2025 Lois Balsley Scholarship Application Form
The Cal-Pac United Methodist Foundation is happy to award scholarships made possible by the benevolence of Lois Balsley. Determination of the number of scholarships and the amount awarded will be made by the Foundation Grant Committee, with scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000 depending on the number of applications received.
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Graduating high school senior enrolling in a two-or four-year college or vocational school in the fall of 2025. Proof of intent to enroll will be required.
• Demonstrate community and or school involvement.
• Active service/membership in a United Methodist Church within the California-Pacific United Methodist Conference.
IMPORTANT DATES:
• May 16, 2025 – Application deadline
• June, 2025 – Notification of Application Status

UWF Scholarship Application
In 1999 the Wilshire United Methodist Women (English Ministry) adopted a scholarship program as part of its local mission outreach. Scholarship awards are available to students attending any accredited university, college, seminary or trade/technical school. The award must be used for tuition, books and fees. Scholarships are awarded for one academic year.
Gaunnie Dixon Memorial
We will be having a memorial for Gaunnie Dixon on June 7 from 10am - 1pm.
Good Friday Service (combined)
Join us for our Good Friday Combined Worship Service on Friday, April 18 at 7 P.M. as we reflect on Christ’s sacrifice and prepare our hearts for Easter. Let’s worship together as one body in Christ.

Paulina Filby Memorial Service
Please join us as we celebrate the life and memory of Paulina Filby on Wednesday, April 10, at 7:00 PM. The service will be a time to honor and remember Paulina’s love, kindness, and the impact she had on all of us.
Young Adult Bible Study & Activities
Young adults, mark your calendars! Join us on Friday, March 28 at 7 P.M. in the Gym for a fun night of fellowship. We’ll spend time in the Word and enjoy some sports activities together. Invite a friend and come ready for a great evening!
Proclaimers/Audio Bible Fundraiser
We are raising funds to purchase 15 Proclaimers / Audio Bibles. Our goal is is to raise $2,355 to distribute to 15 countries. Give online or on Sunday by noting “Proclaimers” or “Audio Bible”.
Ash Wednesday Service
We invite you to join us for our Ash Wednesday Service on March 5 at 7:00 P.M. as we begin the season of Lent together in worship and reflection.

Christmas Eve Service at Wilshire United Methodist Church.

Donate a $25 Target Gift Card to support foster youth through the Alliance for Children. Drop your gift card in the Angel Tree Box in the Narthex on December 8 or 15.

Thanksgiving Offering
As we gather to celebrate the season of gratitude, let’s take a moment to reflect on the many blessings in our lives. Thanksgiving Sunday is a time to give thanks, and it’s also a beautiful opportunity to give back. Your offering helps us continue the ministry of love, hope, and service within our church and community.
This Sunday, let’s give with hearts full of gratitude. Every gift, big or small, is a blessing that helps us touch lives, share God’s love, and build His Kingdom.

Celebrate gratitude and community with us at our Thanksgiving Potluck! Join us on Nov. 24 at 11:30 AM in the Hall of Fellowship for a delicious meal following the worship service. Bring your favorite dish to share, or collaborate with others to create something special. Let’s gather as a church family to give thanks and enjoy fellowship. All are welcome!
Faith Festival
Join us for a joyful Faith Festival hosted by the Filipino Caucus Foundation! Special guest speaker, Bishop Dottie Escobedo-Frank will be speaking. The event will be held at First Fil-Am UMC of SGV, located at 1415 S. 9th Ave., Hacienda Heights, CA 91745. Everyone is welcome—come and be part of this inspiring day!
Trunk or Treat
